Sharon M. Barrett Bio

Sharon M. Barrett has devoted her entire professional life championing for the rights of the disabled. Ms. Barrett began her career working for the Social Security Administration and performed a variety of duties involving the administration of the disability program, including over fifteen (15) years in management positions. Following her years of administering the disability program, Ms. Barrett served as a staff attorney-advisor in the Social Security Administration's Office of Hearing and Appeals located in Tampa, Florida. As an attorney-advisor, Ms. Barrett reviewed and analyzed claims for disability benefits, evaluated medical and other evidence to determine if it was sufficient to support the decision being issued, wrote draft decisions for the Administrative Law Judges hearing claims, and provided counsel to the Administrative Law Judges regarding applicable statutes, rules and regulations of the Social Security Act pertaining to the disability claims under consideration. After a successful career with the Social Security Administration spanning twenty-three (23) years and a thorough understanding of the disability program, Ms. Barrett entered into the private practice of law where she continues to fight for the rights of the disabled. Ms. Barrett is licensed to practice law in both Ohio and Florida and is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives.
Barb Krautheim Bio

Barb Krautheim is our ERISA long-term disability and Social Security Disability paralegal. She has 24 years experience at the state, federal and appellate levels. She assists Sharon with all aspects of case management from intake to trial, in matters involving ERISA and NON-ERISA Long-Term Disability claims and Social Security Disability claimant claims. Barb and Sharon worked together for four years prior to Sharon opening her own law practice.
Barb has also worked with other prominent long-term disability firms in the Tampa Bay area. She moved to Tampa, Florida from Nashville, Tennessee where she worked primarily as a personal injury paralegal. It was not until she moved to Tampa that she started working with individuals who suffer from injuries or illnesses which require them to file for disability benefits. It was then that she decided that helping the disabled is her true passion. Barb has worked on the defense side as well but after a year away from working with the disabled, she came back to her true passion.
Barb's skills, experience and genuine interest in helping people has enabled her to build a long and successful career and makes her a favorite with our clients.
